Why It Works
Road salt gets sprayed from October to April. It creeps into every seam, every bolt hole, every hidden cavity your eyes can't reach. By the time you see rust on the surface, the damage underneath is already done.
Krown's oil formula is different from rubberized undercoating — it penetrates instead of just coating the surface. It gets into the cracks moisture hides in and stays active all year long.
Penetrates, doesn't just coat
Gets into every seam and cavity rubber undercoating can't reach
One treatment per year
Spring and summer are ideal — but any time of year works. Done in under an hour.
Proven for 40 years in Canada

Our Shop
Ontario roads — salt, gravel, freeze-thaw cycles. One Krown treatment per year saturates everything from the window line down: door cavities, rocker panels, floor pans, frame rails, seams, bolts, every hidden space salt gets into. It's not a coating — it's a penetrant that soaks deep into the metal and leaves a thin, active film that blocks moisture and stops rust before it starts.
Every vehicle gets fully lifted
Everything from the window line down — lifted and fully covered

Most people think fall is the time to Krown — "salt season is coming." That's old thinking, and it's costing them the best possible application of the year.
Here's what actually happens: when metal is hot, it expands — seams open up, spot welds separate slightly, cavities breathe. That's exactly when the T40 penetrant flows deepest and fastest, getting into spaces that cold, contracted metal simply won't let it reach. The dripping phase also moves faster in warm weather because the oil is thin and mobile. Cold oil is sluggish — it penetrates slower and doesn't travel as far.
The salt from last winter is already working on your vehicle right now, all spring and summer. The best time to fight it is when the metal is warm and wide open — not after it's contracted in November.
Heat causes metal to expand slightly — including the seams, welds, and hidden cavities where rust actually starts. The T40 flows directly into those open gaps and saturates them completely. Cold metal is contracted and tight. You're not getting the same penetration in November that you get in July.
The T40 is already low-viscosity by design — but heat makes it even more mobile. In warm weather it moves quickly through every seam and cavity, and the dripping phase is over in days. In cold weather the oil is sluggish, slower to penetrate, and takes longer to work through. Warm application means a faster, more complete result.
Last winter's road salt is sitting in your seams and cavities right now, actively corroding through spring and summer. Waiting until fall means months of unprotected exposure before you even book. Any time of year is better than waiting — but summer is the best application you can get.
The T40 isn't just oil — the oil is what carries the rust inhibitor formula deep into the metal. Think of it as a delivery system. The oil gets the active inhibitor into every seam, cavity, and spot weld it could never reach on its own. Once it's there, the inhibitor does the work. The oil just made the introduction.

Right after treatment, Krown floods every cavity from the window line down — door seams, frame rails, floor pans, bolt holes. Excess oil drips out of drain holes for a few days as it works its way through. Then the metal and rust absorb what's left. When it stops dripping and looks dry, that's not it wearing off or missed spots — that's the T40 doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Penetrate.
The first two weeks, don't park on a bare concrete driveway if you can help it. Lay cardboard under the vehicle to catch drips. The oil is clear and thin — it won't stain asphalt but can leave a mark on bare concrete.
Once it settles, what's left is a thin, nearly invisible film. Not rubber. Not tar. It doesn't seal — it penetrates. That's what lets it get into every seam, every bolt hole, every place a coating can't reach. That's also why it needs to be reapplied annually.
Prices are per annual treatment. It's never a bad time to Krown — 365 days a year. Spring and summer are ideal, but you can never be too late.

Most chips can be repaired in 15–20 minutes for a fraction of the cost of a new windshield. The longer you wait, the worse it gets — call us before it runs.
🏅 Most Ontario auto insurance policies cover stone chip repair at no cost to you — ask us when you call and we'll help you figure out if you're covered.
80%
of chips are repairable
If you catch it early, most chips can be fixed cleanly. Waiting turns repairable chips into irreparable cracks.
15–20
minutes to repair
In and out, same day. Most repairs take 15–20 minutes.
$0
out of pocket for many drivers
Many Ontario insurance policies cover chip repair fully. One call and we can help you find out if yours does.
What We Repair
Not all chips are the same. Here's what we see every day — and what we can do about them.
Repair Limits
Crack Length
Cracks roughly 40mm and longer are usually unrepairable and require windshield replacement.
Chip Diameter
Chip damage exceeding the size of a quarter are usually unrepairable and require windshield replacement.
Previously Repaired
Stone chips that have been previously repaired cannot be repaired again.
Not sure if yours qualifies?
Just call us at 519-428-0980 and describe what you've got — size, location, how long it's been there. We'll give you an honest answer. We don't do windshield replacements, so there's no incentive for us to push you either way. If it can be repaired, we'll fix it. If it can't, we'll tell you so.
The Process
Simple process, quick turnaround. Here's what happens from the time you pull in.
Quick assessment — size, type, location, how long it's been there, and whether it's repairable. Most are.
Any dirt or moisture is removed before we touch it. Clean glass means a cleaner repair and better resin bond.
Optical resin is injected under vacuum — it fills the chip, bonds the glass together, and stops the crack from spreading.
UV light cures the resin in minutes. The chip is structurally sealed — drive away the same day.
Don't Wait
A chip sitting in your windshield gets worse every day — here's why.
Ontario summers and winters are hard on glass. Hot days and cold nights expand and contract the windshield constantly — every cycle pushes a chip closer to becoming a crack.
Once moisture gets into a chip, the repair becomes harder and the result less clean. Dirt in the crack contaminates the resin bond. The sooner we get to it, the better the repair.
Every pothole, gravel road, and highway kilometre puts stress on that chip. It doesn't take much to turn a bullseye into a crack that runs halfway across your windshield overnight.
A stone chip repair costs a fraction of a windshield replacement — and most insurance policies cover it. Once it cracks beyond repair, you're looking at a full replacement out of pocket or through your deductible.
Insurance Coverage
Most Ontario drivers with comprehensive auto insurance are covered for stone chip repair at zero out-of-pocket cost. Insurance companies prefer paying for a repair over paying for a full windshield replacement — so many policies cover it entirely, no deductible.
Call us before you assume you're paying out of pocket. We'll help you figure out if your policy covers it and walk you through the process.
📞 Call 519-428-0980Comprehensive coverage usually applies
Stone chip repair typically falls under your comprehensive glass coverage — not collision. Different deductible rules apply.
No deductible in many cases
Many Ontario insurers waive the deductible for chip repair specifically — because it's cheaper than paying for a replacement later.
Won't affect your premium
A glass repair claim is generally not considered an at-fault accident and shouldn't impact your insurance rate.
The sooner you call, the better the repair — and it might not cost you a thing. Describe what you've got and we'll tell you straight.
Regional Auto Glass & Krown — 50 Gilbertson Drive, Simcoe ON · 519-428-0980
We don't just take your order — we engineer your solution. You tell us the application, the environment, and what you're dealing with. Our engineer assesses that information and specifies the right glass, frame, and assembly for the job. Crane cabs, operator pulpits, furnace stations, machinery guards — built as complete units to your exact spec.
We also supply commercial doors and hardware — vision lites, push bars, handles, hinges, closers. But engineered safety glass is what we do best.
Engineer on staff · Trusted by steel mill and foundry operations in Southern Ontario · Custom assemblies shipped anywhere in Canada · Complete units — glass, stainless frame, fire-retardant gaskets
Engineer on Staff
Our engineer works from the information you provide — the position, the environment, the hazards it's exposed to, and the dimensions you're working with. You give us the full picture of what you're dealing with, and we specify the right assembly for it. Not the closest standard size. The right one.
If you've been handed a glazing problem that a regular glass shop couldn't solve — non-standard openings, high-heat exposure, slag impact, explosion risk, compliance requirements — that's exactly what we're here for. Call us with the details. We'll come back with a spec.
You tell us the position, the environment, the hazards, and the dimensions. We ask the right questions to get the full picture — then we spec the right glass for the job.
Glass type, thickness, frame material, gasket grade — every component selected for the actual conditions, not adapted from whatever was on the shelf.
Glass, stainless frames, and fire-retardant gum rubber gaskets arrive as one assembly. Your crew fits it — they don't have to figure it out.
Industrial Safety Glazing
Crane cabs run above active floor operations. Operator pulpits sit beside furnaces that run at over 1,600°C. The glass in those positions isn't a window — it's a safety barrier. We build assemblies designed for those conditions: tempered and laminated safety glass, stainless steel frames, fire-retardant gum rubber gaskets, cut to your exact dimensions.
Overhead crane operator enclosures above active production floors. Full glazing assemblies, all panels, built to fit your cab exactly.
Control stations overlooking rolling mills, presses, and casting floors. Glass that stands up to radiant heat, impact, and vibration — every shift.
Observation and control positions beside high-temperature furnaces. Assemblies rated for sustained radiant heat exposure — not standard commercial glass.
Machine guarding panels, press inspection windows, and safety screens. Custom cut, properly framed — not bent sheet plastic.
Glass Types — Specified for the Environment
For BOF, EAF, blast furnace, and melt shop positions where pressure events, spatter, and violent atmospheric conditions are a real risk. Laminated assemblies that contain fracture and stay in the frame.
BOF · EAF · Blast Furnace · Melt Shop
Rated for direct hot slag impact — exceeds UL 752 Level 5. Built for slag yards, pot carriers, slag equipment, and ladle operations where molten material contact is a genuine hazard, not a theoretical one.
Slag Yards · Pot Carriers · Ladle Operations
Infrared Reflecting glass that blocks radiant heat at the source. Multiple grades — borosilicate for close proximity to molten metal, laminated and tempered IRR for positions further back. Specified by distance and exposure level.
Furnace Stations · Tapping Stations · Control Rooms
Rolling and pull-down glare shields for operator positions dealing with intense brightness from furnace taps, arc flare, or molten metal pours. Protects vision without blocking the sight line entirely.
Crane Cabs · Pulpits · Tapping Stations
What's in a Complete Assembly
Explosion resistant, hot slag rated, heat shield IRR, borosilicate, laminated, tempered — our engineer specifies the correct glass for your exact environment and distance from hazard.
Frames that won't corrode in mill environments. Sized and fabricated to your dimensions — not adapted from off-the-shelf stock.
The seal between glass and frame matters. Fire-retardant gum rubber gaskets — not foam tape, not silicone — rated for the environment they'll live in.
Proven in the Field
We've designed and supplied complete safety glazing assemblies for steel mill and foundry operations in our region — crane cabs, operator pulpits, and furnace-side control stations. These aren't test environments. If the assembly holds up there, it'll hold up anywhere.
If your facility has glazing that's overdue for replacement — or positions that were never properly glassed to begin with — call us. Give us the details of the application and we'll figure out the right solution from there.
We have ongoing relationships with heavy manufacturing facilities in the region. Not a first attempt — a track record.
Every assembly is built to spec — no adapting a standard size to fit a non-standard opening. You measure, we build.
We're in Simcoe, Ontario — but we ship nationally. Foundry in Northern Ontario, mill in Alberta — doesn't matter. Call us.
Also Available
Industrial facilities often need more than glazing. We can source commercial door assemblies — hollow metal slabs, vision lites, push bars, panic hardware, handles, hinges, and closers. Order it all from one place instead of chasing five suppliers.
Hollow metal and industrial door slabs to your dimensions — with or without vision lite cutouts.
GPW wire glass for fire-rated openings or clear tempered for standard commercial use.
Exit devices for industrial and commercial doors — single, double, fire-rated or standard.
Commercial-grade hardware — keyed, passage, or privacy, whatever the situation calls for.
Heavy-duty commercial hinges — butt, spring, and continuous — sized for the door and the load.
Surface and concealed closers, kick plates, push plates — everything to complete the install.
How It Works
Whether you have exact measurements or just a broken window and a crane waiting, we start from where you are.
Call or send us a message. Tell us what position needs glazing, what the environment is like, and what you're dealing with — broken glass, undersized panels, non-standard opening, compliance issue. Whatever it is.
We work from the information you give us — the position, the environment, the glass type currently in use, the dimensions, what it's being exposed to. You give us the full picture; we specify the right assembly. You get an engineered spec, not a guess.
Glass, stainless frame, gaskets — assembled as a complete unit and shipped to your facility anywhere in Canada. Your crew installs it. No sourcing five separate suppliers, no guessing on compatibility.
